Sonya Barnes is a certified professional coach, bestselling author, and internationally recognized expert in midlife wellness, personal branding, and executive presence. As the founder of Studio M – Midlife Reimagined, she's on a mission to redefine how women experience menopause and midlife, transforming what society frames as decline into a powerful renaissance.

For nearly two decades, Sonya has worked with senior executive women worldwide on personal branding, image development, and executive
presence. Her client list includes Fortune 500 companies such as Bank of America, General Electric, and Vina Capital. She has delivered keynote presentations and led transformative workshops across the United States, Southeast Asia, and Europe.

Her work has been featured in national and international media including the Chicago Tribune, Charlotte Observer, Good Day Vietnam, and The Moulin Gazetteer (France). She has appeared on Charlotte Today and serves as a brand and style expert for Tone Networks.
The Turning Point
Sonya's work took a defining turn in 2019 when she faced menopause head-on while navigating extraordinary personal challenges—her son's near-fatal car accident, family caregiving responsibilities, and the arrival of the global pandemic. The weight fluctuations, sleepless nights, mental fog, and spiraling confidence forced a reckoning: she couldn't sustain the "glamorous" life she'd built without sacrificing her health and well-being.

That moment of clarity became her catalyst. Recognizing that many of her high-performing clients were wrestling with the same invisible struggle, Sonya redirected her expertise toward a gap no one was addressing: the intersection of menopause, wellness, and leadership. She became a fierce advocate for midlife women, refusing to accept that this transition meant diminished presence, vitality, or relevance.
In 2025, Sonya organized and led Charlotte's Inaugural Menopause Conference, bringing education, resources, and community to women navigating this critical life stage. Her leadership in menopause advocacy earned her a Mayoral Proclamation from the City of Charlotte, recognizing her groundbreaking work in women's health and wellness.
