There's Something About September

I have always loved September.

Maybe it’s because it’s my birth month.

Maybe it’s the subtle shift in the air, the sense that one season is making room for another. This summer in the south has been absolutely brutal.

And it's definitely the Fall fashions! Let's just be real. :-)

But September has always felt like a beginning to me. It's always been my personal New Year, and this year, on the eve of another birthday, it feels different.

I’m not entering this next year with a long list of things I need to change, prove or figure out; with the exception of my hair, which is always changing.

I feel... clear.

Clear about the work I’m here to do.

Clear about the women I want to serve.

Clear that the conversations we’re having about women, wellness, work and this season of life are bigger than any one event, city or even a country.

For the first time in a while, I can see the global possibilities of this work without feeling the need to chase them. And those who know me personally know that I’ve always had a bit of wanderlust in my soul, so the thought of where this work might take me brings me even greater joy.  I’m simply ready for them.

And more than anything, I feel grateful.

For the people who believe in the vision. For the doors that have opened, and even some that didn’t. For the wisdom that only comes from having lived enough life to know that every ending isn't a loss, and every beginning doesn't need a grand announcement. I’m simply ready for what comes next.

IT'S TIME!

So here’s to September, all the September queens—and definitely my fellow September Virgos. 😊

  • To new beginnings.

  • To work that feels aligned.

  • To trusting the direction even when you can't see the entire road.

And to walking into another year of life not asking, “Who am I supposed to become?”

But saying:

“I know who I am. Now let’s see where she goes.”

With Love & Gratitude,

--Sonya
